Should you get the Universal Orlando 3 Park Annual Pass?

Deciding whether to get the Universal Orlando 3 Park Annual Pass or the 2 park Annual Pass comes down to a few factors.

The 3 Park Annual Pass includes access to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay Water Theme Park.

The 2 Park Annual Pass includes access to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

If you’re planning on visiting all three parks, then the 3 Park Annual Pass is the obvious choice.

However, if you’re only interested in visiting Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, you might want to consider the 2 Park Annual Pass.

The 2 Park Annual Pass is cheaper than the 3 Park Annual Pass, so it could save you money in the long run.

Ultimately, the decision comes down to how often you plan on visiting the waterpark, Volcano Bay.

Getting to the waterpark from the main theme park parking garage takes about 15 minutes. Which is inconvenient when it comes to park hopping.

Volcano Bay will also be fully closed due to inclement weather, which should be considered when it comes to the value of your annual pass.

If you plan on going to Volcano Bay Waterpark more than once, then the 3 park annual pass makes sense.

Is the Universal Orlando Annual Pass Worth it?

If you’re a fan of theme parks, then the Universal Orlando Annual Pass is definitely worth considering.

For just a few hundred dollars, you’ll get unlimited access to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

That means you can come and go as you please for an entire year, enjoying all the rides and attractions at your leisure.

And with regular special events like Halloween Horror Nights and Mardi Gras, there’s always something new to see and do. So if you’re looking for value for money, the Universal Orlando Annual Pass is definitely worth checking out.

We did the annual pass because the cost of the annual pass, compared to 3-day tickets, is not much more.

Universal Orlando Tips and Hacks!

Here are a few tips and hacks to help you make the most of your Universal Orlando experience:

ARRIVE EARLY

If you’re visiting during the busy summer season, try to arrive at the park early in the morning. This will help you avoid the crowds and heat later in the day. Or check out our crowd calendar.

FREE WATER

Take advantage of the free water fountains located throughout the park. This will help you stay hydrated and save money on drinks.

LUNCH/SNACKS

Pack a light lunch or snacks with you. This will save you money on food and give you something to eat between rides.

COMFORTABLE SHOES

Wear comfortable shoes. You’ll be doing a lot of walking, so it’s important to wear shoes that won’t give you blisters.

WEATHER

Check the weather forecast before you go. Florida can be unpredictable, so it’s always good to know what kind of weather to expect.

DOWNLOAD THE UNIVERSAL RESORT APP

The Universal Resort App is quite helpful. It may be used to check ride times, explore the parks, obtain Virtual Line passes, connect to wifi, and more. It’s well worth downloading just for the map alone.

TAKE A LUNCH BREAK

Take a break in the afternoon if your family needs some rest. The parks are most crowded and hottest in the early-to-mid afternoon.

If you’re feeling exhausted, return to your resort for a power nap or time spent at the pool.

If you don’t need a long break but still want to escape the heat, have lunch indoors with some A/C mid-afternoon.

BUY THE REFILLABLE BOTTLES AND POPCORN

A great way to save money at Universal Studios is by purchasing refillable soda bottles and popcorn on your first day!

The refillable cup might seem a little pricey at first, but the refills will more than makeup for it. Of course, this may not be useful if you don’t drink much soda/juice; however, it will save you a lot of money if you do.

USE THE “SECRET” ENTRANCE

If you have the good fortune of visiting on a day that isn’t too crowded, then this tip won’t be useful to you. However, if you come when it’s busy, there is another entrance located by the (old) Blue Man Group Auditorium.

If you’re looking for a great way to enjoy all that Universal Orlando has to offer, an annual pass is a perfect option.

With unlimited access to both theme parks and no blockout dates (the cheaper annual passes do have blockout dates), you can come and go as often as you please.

Plus, plenty of other benefits come with being an annual passholder, such as discounts on food and merchandise and special events just for Annual Passholders.

If you’re ready to experience the best of Universal Orlando, be sure to get your annual pass today!
